Why Scatter Joy? Being idle has never been comfortable for my right brain. Creativity has always been a part of me. Needlework was my first passion. Then I discovered the Silhouette cutting machine and I was off to the races. I made cards for EVERY holiday and occasion. My sister once quipped, 'Missie woke up, she sent a card'. One day while mailing them I was reminded of the comments I got from recipients when I saw them. They told me how much they loved getting the cards and looked forward to them. So many of them said how they kept them through the years and displayed them in their homes. I thought to myself, you are 'scattering joy'. When we made the move to Florida in 2016, I discovered a niche for making nautical signs and coastal decor. Our move back to Ohio in 2021 enabled us to expand our workshop and our product line. While I still have a love for the paper, being able to make unique creations out of beautiful pieces of wood has opened up a whole new world to me. Adding the personalization to them carries on the scattering of joy.
